8:00AM Alternate weeks
A traditional morning service of Holy Communion following the Book of Common Prayer. Please note that this may not happen every week - It is normally held on the Second and Fourth Sunday of each month. Please see weekly newsletter for details or telephone 01676532721. NB the newsletter can be found online by going to the '/Social Media, News & other Links' page of this website - click on the link you will find there.
9:30AM On the 'Third Sunday' of every month
An informal relaxed service for all ages, usually held in the Hall (but online during the lockdown!). Once a month, at 9:30 on the 'Third Sunday', we set out the chairs and beanbags in the Hall so there's plenty of room for the kids to run around if they need to!
Lots of activities for all ages (quiet reflection and teaching for those who want, as well as arts and crafts and 'stuff'!)
Our main Sunday service
9:30AM Every Sunday
Our main service celebrates Communion in contemporary language ('Common Worship'), and starts at 9.30. There are always activities for children. For an experiment, we are starting to run TWO 'Main Services' (at 9:30 AND at 11:00) - if this seems to meet a need, we shall continue after Christmas!
On the Third Sunday of each month we follow a modern, informal style of worship (our "Switch" service), often in the Hall where there is more room to experiment and run around. Then there is a simple service of Communion with hymns at 11:00 …..
On the Fifth Sunday of the month we usually have 'Café Style' Communion, starting with coffee and pastries, and sharing bread and wine around small tables
Prayer Ministry & Healing
10:30AM Every Fourth Sunday of the Month
Many people might appreciate an opportunity for prayer ministry and laying-on of hands. We now offer a time for this after the 9:30 service on the 'Fourth Sunday', when the rest of the congregation go over to the Hall for refreshments.
Coffee for All
10:30AM Every Sunday
Between the regular 9:30 service and the 11:00 service, we serve coffee (Fairtrade, naturally, or tea, squash and biscuits or sometimes cake) “for all” so that our congregation(s) can relax, meet each other, and chat.
11 o'clock Communion
11:00AM Monthly, 3rd Sunday of each month
On the Third Sunday of each month there is a later short service of communion, with music, using the Common Worship format
11:00AM Every First Sunday of the month
Our new informal all-age worship service - modern worship songs and a relaxed atmosphere. Now happening online during the Lockdown - but we look forward to you coming for coffee in the Hall from 10:30 when that's all over!
11:00AM Second Sunday of each month
An all age interactive worship service with ‘live music’ which used to happen in the afternoons, but is now an 11:00 morning service! See our Facebook page for what’s happening this month.
6:00PM First Sunday of every month
Sung Evensong, with choir! Using the Book of Common Prayer.
Mothers Union Branch
10:30AM Monthly on the 'Third Monday'
The local Mothers' Union meets monthly, usually with a speaker and refreshments
Time varies but usually 10:30am
Midweek Morning Communion
A short said service of Communion - a friendly mid-week devotional and social top-up. This now starts at 10:30 rather than 9:30 as this seems to make it easier to come and join in. There is no longer coffee after the service, but we hope it is still a social event in mid week for those who attend! The service will take a summer break after Easter and we shall consider whether to restart in August!
Pints with Peter
A friendly get together at the end of the working day, on the Wednesday following the monthly "Switch" service which happens on the Third Sunday of each month. This doesn't mean it will be the Third Wednesday! We meet for a drink at the White Horse pub, on the Kenilworth Road, and sometimes matters of faith and topical interest get discussed from a Christian perspective. Come and join in!
Friends at St Peter's
7:30PM On the fourth Wednesday of the month
A social get-together, usually with a speaker, in the Hall once a month - check monthly magazine for details as some meetings are not 'open' or may be at a different time!
Tea and Cake at St Peter's
2:30PM On the Second Thursday of every month
An opportunity to come together and chat over tea and home made cakes in our welcoming lounge in the church. Alternate months there is a short service in addition, on the Fourth Thursday.
Young People's Activity: The Rock @ St Peter's
3:30PM Weekly in Termtime
The Rock at St Peter's is a youth club for Years 5 & 6 on Thursday after school from 3.30pm until 5.30pm. There's always plenty of fun, tuck and pizza for everyone! See some of the activities on the Facebook page spcbalsallforkids. There is a later session fortnightly for secondary-school age young people in Years 7 (Café Rock) - ask Livia for details.
Our Young People's worker (CFM) is Livia Baciu and she has planned an exciting programme! We hope to see many young people at these events...
The Rock Team
Junior choir meets every Thursday from 6.30, and Senior choir at 7.30 - new members always welcome, tuition provided! (meet in church, access via Vestry door in the carpark)
Contact Kim Rawson, Musical Director and Choirmaster, for details, or just turn up.
Bumps & Babies
1:30PM Weekly during termtime
The Bumps and Babies Café is now meeting on Friday Afternoons during school term time for mums, dads and grandparents caring for babies, and expectant mums too! Come and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee, homemade cake, and chat whilst the babies play. There is also 'Stay and Play' for older children - lots of room in the Church Hall for them to run around safely too! If you have kids in both age groups - that's why we have moved them together in the Hall at the same time!
Play and Stay
1:30PM Every Friday in Termtime
During termtime, an afternoon activity for Mums and toddlers in the Hall. Lots of space to run around, and now with added 'Bumps & Babies' where Mums & other carers can meet and chat over coffee and cake.
